Minds Cafe @ Boat Quay - Surprise Party!

Yesterday was a day full of after school activities. First rushed down to Yishun Safra for BT Nite 07. Had buffet and a couple of rounds of bowling... haha not bad... quite fun! :)
Then Miao drove both of us down to Minds Cafe @ Boat Quay to meet my cousins for gathering. Tot it was just a normal gathering organised by Luo as he will be going back to the States next week. So it was really a very PLEASANT surprise when Zhang brought out the birthday gifts they got for Huixian and I. I was so shocked and happy lor! Cos I really did not expect anything. It was so sweet of them... they bought each of us a T-shirt (the Mr Men and Miss Little Series), so CUTE la! Mine was Miss Ditzy, reason being she was YELLOW, not becos I was DITZY and Xian's was Miss Naughty cos tat was the closest they can get to BLUE. Haha! It was a T-shirt that I always wanted to get but dun seem to find it anyway! Haha!
Then there was this magnet alphbets (which they use to form our names) photo frame. * Arh! I dun have photos with the frame, Zhang sent me the photos* The best part was inside, which contained 4 pictures that were taken recently at ECP Jumbo, Zhang's bday and Geylang Nite Out. Great outings definitely worth remembering!
And Xian also got me something. A specially designed necklance (from the People's Park shop recommended by Jia and Zhen), ONE AND ONLY, k! After all that exchange of gifts, writing of bday wishes on the photos, we finally settled down for some board / card games. It was full of screams and laughter! haha!
Thanks dearies for that wonderful surprise! Maybe I was at all not expecting it, so it became a real GREAT surprise for me! LOVE the gifts and MOST IMPORTANTLY the company and the thought from you all! I guess my sis feels the same too! From the bottom of my heart, I wish to SHOUT out to u: " I AM SOOOOOOO THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU ALL AS MY COUSINS!!! MUACK MUACK!! "

Miao's Birthday - 17th Aug
It was a simple celebration, just went to Raku Zen at Milenium Walk for late Japanese dinner. Then we saw a model exhibition in the shopping centre itself. Really cool cars/bikes/planes/trucks models, made by contestants participating in the competition. Beautiful!
Earlier in the day, after PSLE Oral, went to buy his brithday gift (got to thank Karn Nee and Baoqin who accompanied me haha!) It was something he always wanted.. but nv want to spend money on it... the GOLDEN Gandum toy... I dun even know what model was tat.... for a practical person like me, it is definitely not very useful. But I guess since it is something he likes and it is HIS birthday.... I should get it for him. Glad that he loves it... Happy 27th Birthday *old man yah*

Movie Recommendation - Transformers & Rush Hour 3

Have been watching many shows recently. I think these are the 2 most memorable ones. Never have a childhood (as CK will say), so I never know what charcters there are in Transformers. But I think the movie is really great! The effects are good and I super LOVE Bumble Bee. Haha! You noe me, anything YELLOW is beautiful! So when Bumble Bee came out in a Nice Hot Yellow, so cute and passionate to its owner, I just got to love it! Cool wheels! The other show is Rush Hour 3. Watched it before the Geylang nite-out. Super funny... especially the conversation between Jackie and Chris Tucker. Fanatastic, just a pity it was too short... only 1 and half hours long.... 2 great movies... hope you will like them too! :) WATCH THEM!

Geylang Supper Nite-Out

Zhang jio-ed for supper last week but it was not materialized. Sooo sad! So i decided to jio for another one last night. Zhang managed to get Hanping and Kun An to join us over MSN... so we all met at Geylang for supper.
It was a relaxed session. Lots of food (Frog leg porridge, Beef Hor fun & Orh Jian). Lots of catching up and random topics like Army (cos Kun An in army - an officer in Air Force, not bad sia!), University (cos Hanping going to SMU soon taking accountancy), Law firms and partners (cos Zhang is wondering if she can withstand the long working hours in a law firm) and citizenship (cos we are comparing if being a US resident is better than S'porean) etc etc... So quite random right!
Soon it's time to go home. We decided to take some shots by the roadside haha! Thanks CK again for being camera man. Seems like a weird and random place to take photos, but who cares right?! People all in... Geylang as backdrop.... Nice mah!

Brownie Making Course - 10 August
We were bascially very bored that day when we were surfing the web. I remembered Huixian's friend asked her over MSN to join some German course and so we were into the PA website. Not interested in the German course but we ended up looking at the different courses that PA Community Centres / Clubs offered. So we signed up for a Brownie Making course... for brownie lovers like us... it's definitely more interesting than learning German.
We went to Serangoon CC for the course... a very colourful building just behind the mosque at Upper Serangoon Rd. The teacher was Valrie Kong. The style of the course was totally different from what we had in mind. We thought it would be something like Home Econs class where we really get hands-on and make the brownies. Well, it's quite disappointing to know that actually Valrie was the one doing the brownies and we would just lend a helping hand in beating the eggs, weighting the ingredients etc. It was basically like a lecture style course.
We took 3 pieces of brownies home each (walnuts and almonds / white chocolate / with cholocate toppings) They all tasted GREAT! But i think we will have to really try the recipie ourselves to really know if we can make it to that standard! Haha! Maybe we will do it next week....
